Alonzo L. Fulgham is the former Acting Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Fulgham currently serves as Vice President for International Relief and Development (IRD), responsible for execution and strategic business initiatives that cut across IRD’s operations, program development and emerging business services areas.
From June 2005 to July 2006, Mr. Fulgham served as USAID Mission Director to Afghanistan. From 2003 to 2005, he served as the Director for South Asian Affairs at USAID. In 1989, he began his career with USAID in Swaziland. His other countries of overseas services have included: Jordan, Serbia, Montenegro, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.
Mr. Fulgham holds a Bachelor of Arts in business and economics from Fisk University and obtained a Master of Arts from the National Defense University in 2001. From 1984-1986 he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Haiti.
