Blueprints for a More Modern U.S. Diplomatic Service Featuring Ambassador Ronald Neumann

On December 7-8, 2024, the Savannah Council on World Affairs hosted Ambassador Ronald Neumann for a program focused on the Blueprints Report.


The main program attracted one of SCWA’s largest in-person audiences – 130 people. There Ambassador Neumann presented on key foreign policy issues and the recommendations from the Blueprints report.


Ambassador Neumann was interviewed by Edward Moody of the NBC-TV affiliate WSAV, where he was given the opportunity to highlight the value to the U.S. interests and the American public of greater resources for a Foreign Service “float” and a reserve diplomatic corps. Ambassador Neumann also met with students at Savannah Country Day to where he provided the students an insider’s view of how the U.S. conducts its foreign policy and how diplomats try to advance U.S. national interests, highlighting the most important lessons from his distinguished career.


Before traveling home, Ambassador Neumann traveled to Statesboro, Georgia, to attend a luncheon with international relations, history, and political science faculty of Georgia Southern University.
