November 7, 2012

That the world has become more complex may be viewed as a cliché but what does it actually mean for the conduct of diplomacy for the United States? Particularly in a time of budget strain, how should the public understand the broad challenges of national security and interests that American diplomacy should meet? The subject is vast but resources are finite. This conference will explore major themes in diplomacy that are of importance to the U.S. and focus on what national interests are advanced in each realm of diplomacy being considered. The conference will be followed by Shenandoah University’s service awards program, at which the Academy will be presented with the University’s National Service Award.
