Marc

Marc Grossman is a Vice Chairman of The Cohen Group, the strategic business advisory firm founded and led by former Secretary of Defense and U.S. Senator William Cohen.

Ambassador Grossman was a career Foreign Service Officer from 1976 to 2005. He was Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs from March 26, 2001 until February 25, 2005. He also had served as Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources, Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs and as U.S. Ambassador to Turkey. Ambassador Grossman was recalled to the Department as the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan from 2011-2012.

Ambassador Grossman earned a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MSc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is the Chairman of the Board of the Senior Living Foundation of the American Foreign Service as well as other as other non-profit and educational institutions. He teaches at Georgetown University in the School of Foreign Service.
